Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST SESSION?

The first session is for us to take a deep dive into your health concerns, goals and past medical history. You are open to share your story with me, and I will listen and respond with questions I feel may help us understand what is going on.

At the end of our appointment, I may recommend some further lab testing as well as a general treatment plan incorporating nutritionlifestylestress-managementmovement and natural supplements to help get you started!

WHAT IS THE TIMELINE OF TREATMENT?
  • Initial Visit: 60-75 mins
  • First Follow-Up Visit: 45 mins
    • This is 2-3 weeks after our first appointment to finalize our individualized treatment plan and review any lab work
  • Second Follow-Up Visit: 15-30 mins
    • 4-6 weeks after our first follow-up. This check-in point is to see how our treatment plan is going
  • Maintenance Appointments: As we deem necessary. The goal is to have you continue on without much intervention
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST TREATMENT?

Bring any recent bloodwork and imaging reports as well as your current medications and natural health products (including dosages). I am looking forward to meeting you!

DOES OHIP COVER NATUROPATHIC LAB TESTING?

Unfortunately, OHIP does not cover lab testing done by Naturopathic Doctors. Some extended healthcare coverage has a section for “Diagnostic Testing” which would leave you eligible to have coverage of testing through Dr. Arlene.
